Patrick Casserly sells E-Services for US$100m

E-Services, the montego-Bay based outsourcing firm, is to be sold to an American company for around US$100 million (J$8.8 billion) sources close to the deal told the Business Observer.

The firm, started by Patrick Casserly in 2000, has in less than nine years time become one of the largest technology call centres in this hemisphere employing over 4,000 people.

Casserly, who serves as CEO, has managed to win contracts from some of the largest Fortune 500 companies including Phillips and Delta Airlines. Back in 2006, e-Services bagged the customer care services of Delta Airlines, which still remains the biggest outsourcing contract in the English-speaking Caribbean.

As his portfolio of clients grew, Casserly sought to expand his company beyond Montego Bay acquiring 180,000 square feet of operating space in Portmore and New Kingston. With 110,000 square feet of contact centre premises in Montego Bay, he set up operations in St Lucia in 2006 adding a further 22,000 square feet of premises.

Casserly won the Jamaica Observer's coveted Business Leaders' Award for the year 2003, and is its youngest awardee. He is celebrated as one of Jamaica's brightest lights among the next generation of
leading entrepreneurs.

He has always maintained that the strength of his company lies in its employees. It is believed that the US-based company will keep the current staff complement.
